Generate random UUIDs (v4) with customizable formatting options
A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit number used to uniquely identify information in computer systems. Our generator creates version 4 UUIDs, which are randomly generated.
A standard UUID consists of 32 hexadecimal digits displayed in five groups separated by hyphens:
xxxxxxxx-xxxx-4xxx-yxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
Example: 550e8400-e29b-41d4-a716-446655440000
Version 4 UUIDs are randomly generated, making them ideal for most use cases. They don't rely on timestamps or MAC addresses, ensuring privacy and preventing information leakage. The probability of collision is negligible (1 in 5.3 × 10³⁶).
