About QR Codes

QR (Quick Response) codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can store various types of information and be quickly scanned by smartphones and other devices. They were invented in 1994 by Denso Wave, a Japanese company, to track automotive parts during manufacturing.

QR codes can contain up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters and are widely used for marketing, payments, authentication, and information sharing. The error correction capability allows QR codes to remain readable even when partially damaged or obscured.

• High (H): 30% of data can be restored - Best for outdoor use or when adding logos

Best Practices

• Test your QR codes before printing or sharing widely
• Use high error correction levels if adding logos or using in outdoor environments
• Ensure sufficient contrast between foreground and background colors
• Maintain adequate size when printing (minimum 2cm x 2cm recommended)
• Include a call-to-action near the QR code to encourage scanning
• Consider using URL shorteners for long web addresses
